Media has been evolving over the years. We went from owning standard physical copies of media to streaming it from the internet. How we watch and listen to media has changed as well and the trend lately has been 3D. Everything has been going 3D lately, from SmartTV’s to portable video game consoles. One of the latest devices to receive the 3D glasses free displays is a tablet from Hammacher Schlemmer.
3D may be a gimmick and it’s hard to say just how long the longevity of 3D displays will be. Televisions have been rather popular with 3D capability though gaming has been hit and miss. Some titles will offer the 3D displays while others will stay standard. One device we haven’t really seen 3D take off on is tablets. Today we’re learning about a new tablet coming from Hammacher Schlemmer that will offer glasses free 3D tablets.
By using parallax barrier the 8″ LCD display will give two sets of pixels that your eyes will be able to pick up the 3D effect. We’re unsure how popular these display will be but only time will tell. This tablet is running Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with being able to connect via WiFi and Bluetooth. A 2 megapixel camera is located on the rear of the device while a VGA camera is tossed on the front allowing video chats. Currently, the tablet will run you $349.95.
